I'd like to be photographer in residence there... Even just to shoot that library! :iconcrushplz:

In can still see it's a very inspired piece of fruit. :giggle: What happened? :iconearplz:

Somewhere on the web there's a list of museums where you're allowed to shoot, I must dig it up again. Thankfully, the largest two museums in town allow you to shoot.
In the Dusseldorf museum of modern art you're allowed to shoot as well, but not at the Thomas Struth exhibition that I visited. Which is ironic, because he got famous with the shots he took in museums.

I should really be sober when replying to messages... I'm not :drunk:

I am lucky in that I have had permission to shoot in several "no photography allowed" areas. I have a permission to shoot in a restricted archive area but refuse to do it until I have a second approval allowing me to keep files and publish them. Spending a day in a dusty museum basement does appeal to me, having to hand over all files related to the shoot does not!

:whisper: I have several illegal shots taken in no photography zones. A lesson my daughter learned at an early age, look like you're supposed to BE THERE and there's a good chance no one will stop you from being there ;)

I wouldn't shoot if I'd have to hand over my files, or they'd have to pay me lots of money. I'm discovering ever more museums where you're allowed to shoot provided you don't use flash. Our largest local museum requires permission if you go beyond private use - well, fair enough. I'm not there to shoot other art (not in the first place at least), I like the people and the spaces. In my latest museum shoot, I took a picture that I'd really like to post on dA and maybe use in a book sometime. I'd probably get away with the first but not so sure about the second.

I agree with using a bit of visual bluff, although in one or two places in Germany my permit was checked even though I'm quite good at looking like I'm supposed to be there. Maybe it's a German thing. :|
